March 23 decommissioning
We're just a week away from the decommissioning of the USS John F. Kennedy, and I am wondering who KNOWS they are going to be attending the ceremony. If you have a ticket or written confirmation that you will be attending, please contact me here via posts or at jeff.brumley@jacksonville.com. Please be sure to include a brief explanation of your relationship to the JFK. Thanks.

Just being part of history is one thing to look forward to. As one of the many navy wifes that will be part of the decommissioning, I really look forward to this day. Seeing my husband dressing up for the very last time before he gets out of the navy will be a treat, but seeing the big john go, that will be forever. I'll be there to support the boys in everything they do and say goodbye to friends that we will miss forever. My husband last day will be in july so he will be with her almost all the way to end. Goodbye Big John and its crew, God Bless.
A Navy Wife,
Crystal
Crystal -- thanks for writing in. Keep an eye out for TU people at the ceremony because I know we're going to want to talk to you.
Jeff,
Master Chief Ski (Tony) here. I will be attending the ceremony on Friday. See you there.
God Bless
Jim in Virginia Beach here. I served on the big john from Jan. '89-Dec.'92. It was my last sea tour which included Desert Shield/Storm. I missed her while she was here in Norfolk 2 weeks ago and will be sure to visit if she is made a museum! But I need help, My dad is in Ft. Lauderdale and although an army guy from WWII he joined the Navy League after doing a tiger cruise w/ me on the JFK and would really like to get to see her decommissioning. he is 81 and probably not get to see a "museum". How can I get him tickets/passes? Anyone know?
Thanks!!
