Photographer Jon Fletcher and I are back at the Florida Times-Union now. He is preparing the video and photos he shot today of the John F. Kennedy's return to Mayport Naval Station. I am starting to write stories that will be in Sunday's newspaper.
We captured some great stuff at Mayport. And a team of other TU reporters and photographers were on the scene, capturing this historic moment. Check it all out later today on Jacksonville.com and in tomorrow's TU.

It has been told to me that last night you did not sleep very well due to "Channel Fever". Sure hope that you are feeling better after your eventful night. But don't worry to much I was on the jetty and my hair do sustained a bad dose of "rotor wash". You have to try it some time it almost like you never have to use shampoo. All kidding aside. I want to take the time to thank you for keeping us informed and the pictures were great. I look forward to seeing the pictures in the paper tomorrow and will keep Jacksonville.com as one of my favorites for happening around town. Thanks again.

Jean -- very funny. Yes, your husband made the comment about my "channel fever" this morning at mess and it took me a while to figure out i was being ribbed. if he had tried to send me down to the hangar bay to get a bucket of prop wash i would have been on to him, big time. anyway please tell him i said hello and thank you for all the help he provided Jon and i in getting around that floating city.
